I want to second the OT welcome and to share my enthusiasm about lidar data in general and this rather awesome Tahoe dataset in particular!

Don't forget to look around a bit on OT, maybe play with some other datasets, have a look at our resources, register some tools, and also follow us on twitter and friend us on Facebook.

welcome!

This powerpoint has background information on the basic idea of the earthquake cycle that we want to work into the Wallace Creek exercise: http://arrowsmith510.asu.edu/TheLectures/Lecture8/Lecture8_SAF_deformation_thatcher_dislocations.ppt

Here is the link for Plate boundary observatory velocity field in KMZ:
pull it from http://pboweb.unavco.org-->tools-->mapping resources: Velocity Field (KMZ).
This will give a map of velocities relative to stable North America it looks like that will nicely show the plate boundary velocities.

Here is the site (http://www.unavco.org/edu_outreach/data.html) that we should follow and ask them to modify to set up a San Andreas Fault-normal profile of velocity vectors to make a digital version of the GPS velocity exercise (as in: http://lidar.asu.edu/Data/TeacherTech/SAF_Regional_deformation.pdf).
